The urban and extra-urban bus lines are mainly distinguished by their range of travel:


: They serve cities and towns, covering relatively short routes with numerous stops close together. They are designed for local and frequent passenger transport, with more frequent runs during rush hour.


: They connect cities, towns and peripheral areas over longer distances. Stops are less frequent and the route is often on extra-urban roads or motorways. They are used for travel between municipalities or to provincial capitals.

Salerno → Pompei (bus e treno)

  • Si parte dal Terminal Bus Vinciprova a Salerno e arriva direttamente a Pompei (Porta Marina o Piazza Mercato). Il viaggio dura circa 40 min e il biglietto costa tra 3 € e 8 €
  • Treno regionale Trenitalia da Salerno a Pompei, pratico, poichè la stazione si trova ameno di 500 metri dall'ingresso degli Scavi.

Non ci sono bus diretti. Il percorso migliore è:

  • Salerno Stazione prendi il treno regionale (linea R) fino a Napoli Centrale (~37 min) da Napoli Centrale a Napoli Garibaldi.
  • Circumvesuviana (linea L1 o L4) fino a Ercolano Scavi Vesuvio (~11 min)
